Year 11 Homework

Hello Historians,

Obviously we're all missing a lesson this week either on Friday or Monday. So here's the work you need to do so that our revision is kept on track. Please let me know if you have any problems with it.

Homework is as follows (due in next lesson - i.e. Tuesday for the "Laura" set, Wednesday for the "Susanne" set):

1. WORLD WAR ONE CAUSES: Complete your "World War One Sample Answers Template" using the following resource to help you.
These provide summary templates from students in previous years: your job is to 'steal' any good ideas in them to improve your own. I will then collect in your completed templates next lesson (Wednesday) and we will collect these together as a pack. I will then delete the 'old' summary templates and yours will go forward  next year as the 'model' pieces - so do a good job!

2. WORLD WAR ONE CAUSES: Video work

3. PEACE TREATIES: Preparation for the next topic
The attached worksheet will form the basis of our next lesson. Your job is to prepare for this lesson by playing the keyword challenge, trying out the Fling quiz, and making notes on each of the possible questions that you might be tested on. All of these things will go into the next round of the leaderboard.

Year 13 Homework

Due for Tuesday = Standard Level (i.e. everybody!): Practices of War / Key Quotes from IB
a. Complete the main worksheet in this folder, using the resources in the subfolder too (as well as your own notes and textbooks) to help you.
b. Do some of the suggested activities relating to this "Key Quotes" document. It will form the basis of the next 'leaderboard challenge'.

Due for Thursday = Higher Level Only: Russia
You will be doing a random question on AlexII and / or AlexIII from a past examination paper. We talked various plans through in class.
In preparation, write plans for as many of the questions we looked at this week in the worksheet.
I will probably set each person a different essay to write so that we can then share them later for revision purposes.

Let me know if you need any help with this.

Year 12 Homework

Standard Level: Due on Tuesday
You already have work to do on Pinochet. Make full use of the video / written sources you've been provided with, there's some excellent points in each and I get the impression some of you aren't making full use of these to your benefit.

Higher Level: Due for Thursday
Debate Teams: Make sure you have prepared clear responses to the questions you have been given by using any sources you can find as explicitly as possible (statistic, quotes etc) and by stressing through reference to provenance why your sources should be trusted.

Maddi is now the only person who isn't a member of this group so someone will have to forward this message on to her till I have her email address.
